With some basic pantry ingredients, it is easy to whip together in less than 5 minutes. There's no need to buy store-bought dressing when you can make this tasty creation in your own kitchen!

In a small saucepan, add all ingredients and cook on medium heat until sugar dissolves. 1 cup apple cider vinegar, 1 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon oil, pinch of salt. Allow to cool; Store in refrigerator or use immediately for wilted salads.

Thinly shred both the green and red cabbage into a large salad bowl. Use your hands to sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon of salt over the green cabbage and gently massage it in to help soften the leaves slightly. Add the sliced cucumber to the bowl with the cabbages. If you like, sprinkle the cucumber with a pinch of the remaining salt.
